 Read:

The French Research Programming Act (LPR) abolished the requirement for all tenured associate professors to be included on a National Council of Universities (CNU) qualification list for university professors. This means that tenured associated professors, tenured academic researchers with an equivalent status to associate professors, such as assistant astronomers, and tenured professors from other ministerial departments in the French civil service need not apply for qualification to become a university professor.

Sorbonne University’s objectives with the recruitment of academic professors

Sorbonne University’s aim is to ensure its capacity for the research and teaching which is so essential to disciplines, particularly rare disciplines, and to strengthen the university's potential in its strategic priorities, in the fields of digital technology, data and artificial intelligence among others. It ensures that cutting-edge university knowledge is amassed and disseminated within and across disciplines, and that rare disciplines are given their rightful place in the amassing of this knowledge. That’s why it supports the development and operation of teaching, research and support services and the careers of the staff who support this ambition. Sorbonne University only recruits academic professors who embody these values, ensuring that the specific characteristics of communities are taken into account, while adopting the broadest possible research profiles to attract the best teaching and research talent. Finally, impartial recruitment is guaranteed by the ethical work of the selection committees, in line with the regulations governing their work. Also, equality in the workplace between all people, and particularly between men and women, is an issue close to Sorbonne University's heart.
